At De Wijnkaart we offer a unique concept where guest relations are key, we strive to let our guests feel at ease in a relaxed environment and offer a high quality product with a surprise factor. Our wines come from regions and wine houses that are less or not at all known on the Dutch market. We want to take our guests on a journey, to discover new regions and tastes. 

Next to our wines we like to distinguish ourselves through the food offerings which are inspired from the food of the origins of the wine, yet with a modern twist. 

 

Job description:

  • Seasonal creation of menus as well as menus for events
  • Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
  • Cultivating a positive working environment for kitchen staff to work in
  • Evaluating and advising with regards to working processes and procedures
  • Staying informed about future trends and focusing on continuous improvement of the food offering to ensure that guests have a positive experience
  • Assisting with supplier selection and negotiation
  • Managing stock levels and placing orders with (existing) suppliers
  • Ensuring that all equipment is used and maintained properly
  • Takes on extra duties, when needed
  • Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team

 

Job requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • HACCP certificate
  • Excellent social, communication and leadership skills
  • Positive mindset and attitude
  • Guest experience focused 
  • Feeling for responsibility 
  • Proactive and initiative taker
  • Knowledge of food/wine pairings 
  • English language speaker, Dutch is a pro
